Call for designers with a sustainability focus to participate to the Princely Mission to Norway !

hub.brussels & MAD Brussels

A princely mission under the presidency of Princess Astrid will take place in Norway from 16 to 19 June 2024. Within this multisectoral mission, organized by the Foreign Trade Agency in close collaboration with hub.brussels, AWEX, Wallonie-Bruxelles Design ModeFIT, and the SPF Foreign Affairs, a focus on Sustainable Design is foreseen, showcasing the Belgian know-how in Oslo.

This unique mission not only offers visibility and networking opportunities for brands but also contributes to the promotion of sustainable design by showcasing the excellence and creativity of Belgian and Brussels-based actors in ethical design.

If you are a furniture designer seeking opportunities in the Norwegian market and looking for a distinctive way to showcase your work globally, this call for applications provides the chance to gain exceptional visibility in front of a relevant audience.

MISSION

As part of an event (Designers Night) specifically aimed at celebrating Belgian designers, we are looking for brands willing to participate and showcase several of their works for exhibition during the mission. The event aims to bring together various stakeholders from the Norwegian and Belgian sustainable design industry around meaningful works, allowing Belgian designers to connect with the Norwegian market.

The mission goes beyond this, offering a 3-day program during where each brand will have the opportunity to schedule B2B meetings in advance, thanks to the presence of commercial advisors on-site. This is a perfect opportunity to meet various useful contacts through a personalized program.

In a nutshell, this mission will allow you to :

·       Learn more about the Norwegian market and its opportunities;

·       Meet the business community (B2B) and local officials;

·       Establish privileged contacts and meet expatriate Belgians;

·       Meet local businesses and identify business opportunities.

Designers night selection criteria

The selected candidates will be chosen based on their alignment with the defined criteria. Each criterion will be interpreted based on the reality of the industry and in an objective manner, taking into account the values of inclusion, sustainability, and innovation shared by MAD Brussels and hub.brussels.

  — Furniture design: this call is only for furniture brands or designers studios producing their own furniture/designs.

  — Ethical, sustainable and social: hub.brussels & MAD aim to promote a sustainable and circular approach to design, emphasizing ethical production closely tied to environmental and social issues.
