Textile Manager

Available until 04.10.2022

NOOSA is a startup launching an innovative and circular textile fiber. Created from nature, we help the fashion industry reducing waste in oceans and landfills by collecting clothes at their end-of-life to recycle them back into a 100% virgin fiber, and this endlessly. No harmful chemicals, no waste in oceans or landfills, no more problems.

  • This is an opportunity to join the team that is the soul of NOOSA: our R&D Team. You will be responsible of developing, improving and implementing our technology at large scale and leading the R&D team.

  • Your main job will be to manage and lead the R&D team to bring NOOSA to the world, making the bridge with the commercial and product department. You will lead the development and implementation of various projects as well as interact with important stakeholders. Your ultimate goal is to build a better version of our products/processes AND implement them at our partners or scale them internally.

  • In practice, you will have to do much more than that. You will be part of a young start-up environment, directly reporting to the founders and at the same time having a strong force of proposition and learning from other teams.

  • You will, work on the development of NOOSA fiber for textile application, through the whole textile chain; from dyeing to finishing, from fiber extrusion to knitting and implement it at industrial level.

  • You will be involved in strategic decisions with customers and industrialization projects, what will lead you to travel. You will represent NOOSA in international fairs and conferences.

  • You will be in contact with production and operate quality control at fiber, yarn and filament level in our chemical and textile lab. For that, you're comfortable with running analysis and extrapolate the results into concrete decisions.

  • You like to collaborate with your colleagues, external institutes, manufacturers and you quickly understand how to bring a technical assistance to NOOSA's very diverse audience (suppliers, partners and customers).

  • Find opportunities for improvement in all activities you do (equipment, systems, methods), test new initiatives and show they work efficiently.

  • You have relevant experience in Textile Engineering and R&D. Chemical engineering and polymer knowledge is a strong plus!

  • Fluent in English: On top of its suppliers/customers, NOOSA's team is quite international so we communicate in that language internally ;-)

  • Resourceful: you like to use your creativity to solve any challenge. There's no problem, only solutions. You are a multi-tasker who likes to tinker to design your own solution and solve small everyday problems.

  • Take initiatives: we are building a truly global business at NOOSA but we are still just a start-up. Life at NOOSA is a rollercoaster since things are moving fast and we are looking for individuals who can prioritize and get things done in such an environment.

  • Curiosity: You are passionate about innovation and sustainability in the textile industry.

  • You are adaptable: and you can put yourself in the shoes of a large workwear group but also a carpet manufacturer as well as a niche fashion designer.

3 nice to haves:

  • You have a unique combination of organizational skills and process architecting to build things from the grounds up and get stuff done.

  • You are 100% Humble: You join us to learn as much as you can. You are not afraid by someone else’s success, on the contrary, it drives you.

  • You are 200% Passionate: You need to give a purpose to your day to day activities. Your passion is contagious and you love to inspire people around you.

  • The opportunity to take ownership, grow quickly and make an impact in building a truly successful global business with a positive ambition.

  • Growth: Opportunities are numerous and the story of NOOSA remains to be written.

  • Entrepreneur mindset: if your dream is to get exposure to different areas of the business and learn how to succeed in any role, we give you the opportunity to move across different functions and learn everything you need to become an entrepreneur within a few years. This will become your project.

  • A young and motivated team: You will be able to join a truly international community of people who inspire each other every day and strive to contribute to the mission.

  • A worthy mission: we deeply care about having a positive impact on the world and we have decided to tackle one of the hardest and biggest problems of our times, textile waste and its impact on the environment. If you deeply care about the impact of your work and aren't satisfied with "just a job", this is your opportunity to make a difference.
