From November 28th until February 16th, MAD is glad to host in its MAD Windows the "Triclinium" project.
After a long day at the beach or to stay out of the midday sun to stop your skin being burned, it's time to recharge your batteries in the “Triclinium”.
With the tangy scent of lemongrass coming from the plastic curtains, your body is protected. The decor is revealed from the outside like an over-frame of reality filtered by a yellow film. As in Tarkovsky's Stalker, it's an invitation to enter a modified reality; we switch from one reality to another through the prism of colour.
As we enter, we leave behind our position as spectator of a hypothetical film scene, a pop, post-Pompeii “Sword and Sandals” film where time seems fixed, to take on the active role of the hedonist who has come to rest and share a quiet moment with his guests.
The triclinium, as its name suggests, offers three benches or “Day Beds” on which you can sit, recline or lie down to enjoy the victuals served on little side tables included in the set-up. Like a tropical jungle, still life by Matisse or indoor oasis, the triclinium invites you to idleness. As you enjoy a fruity dessert, exotic cocktail or Roman feast, the soft green moss of the day beds makes you feel wonderfully lazy.
