As part of the launch of the fourth edition of Slowroom Brussels, MAD Brussels is organizing an exclusive conference on Friday 7 March, spotlighting REantwerp, a Belgian sustainable fashion brand recently crowned Changemaker of the Year at the Belgian Fashion Awards.

Ruth Goossens, co-founder of REantwerp, will share the brand's story, its ethical values, and the challenges faced in building a responsible and inclusive fashion model. Through her journey, she will discuss how REantwerp honors craftsmanship while combining sustainability, social impact, and creativity.

Moderated by Dieter Van Den Storm, artistic director of MAD Brussels, this conference is part of Slowroom Brussels, a fair dedicated to sustainable and responsible practices in the fashion industry. After the conference, you will be able to discover REantwerp's latest collection, displayed in the sales space, and appreciate the brand's commitment to fashion that is both ethical and stylish.

REantwerp

REantwerp is an initiative founded by designer Tim Van Steenbergen, journalist Ruth Goossens, and the GATAM vzw association, aimed at transforming the fashion system by adopting sustainable, transparent practices focused on quality.

The brand uses deadstock from Belgian designers to create limited collections. These unique pieces are crafted in collaboration with refugees, whose artisanal skills and stories enrich each creation. For six months, REantwerp provides them with a professional experience that prepares them to enter the Belgian fashion job market, thereby proving that fashion can be a powerful driver of social change and connection.
