On the 10th June 2026, MAD Brussels andMekanika invite you to discover how CNC milling can transform your creative process at the Mekanika Lab in Anderlecht. Regardless of your preferred material or level of experience, this introductory workshop offers the perfect opportunity to enrich your creative practice by exploring the many possibilities of this innovative technology.
Led by Louise Dousset, CNC expert at Mekanika, the workshop will show how CNC milling can be integrated at every stage of the creative process, from rapid prototyping to the production of final parts, including customisation and packaging development. Participants will gain an overview of the entire machining process from A to Z, explore CAD and CAM software (computer-aided design and manufacturing), and attend live demonstrations on a variety of materials. Increasingly accessible, CNC milling technology fits seamlessly into creative studios and independent workshops.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own material samples (wood, aluminium, plastics, plexiglass, foam, cork, and more) to observe how they behave during the demonstrations and gain a better understanding of the possibilities offered by CNC milling. Projects currently in development are also welcome: 2D or 3D files, sketches, prototypes, or even early-stage ideas can serve as a starting point for discussion with the expert. The workshop will provide an opportunity to explore the technical feasibility of projects and receive practical advice on the best approaches to CNC milling. Designed as a moment for discovery, inspiration, and exchange, this workshop focuses on demonstrations and discussion. Please note that no personal parts or files will be machined during the session.
