On 7th October 2026, MAD Brussels and Mekanika invite you to discover how digital milling can transform your creative process at Mekanika’s Lab in Anderlecht. Whatever your preferred material or level of experience, this introductory workshop is an ideal opportunity to enrich your creative practice by exploring the many possibilities offered by this innovative technology.

Led by Louise Dousset, CNC expert at Mekanika, the workshop will introduce you to the ways digital milling can be integrated into every stage of the creative process: from rapidly producing prototypes to manufacturing final pieces, as well as customisation and packaging development. During the session, you will explore the machining process from A to Z, discover computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, and take part in demonstrations using a range of different materials. As this technology becomes increasingly accessible, it is particularly well suited to creative studios and independent workshops.

Participants are invited to bring their own material samples, prototypes or project ideas and discuss them with Louise, exploring their technical feasibility, how different materials behave during machining, and receiving practical advice they can apply to their own practice. Designed as a space for discovery, inspiration and exchange, the workshop will focus on discussion and demonstrations. No machining of personal parts or files will be carried out during the session. The workshop will conclude with an informal drink, providing an opportunity to continue the conversation.
