As Special Guest of the 2026 edition of MAD Parcours, AFC Collection brings together Linde Freya Tangelder, Scott Lippens, Veerle Wenes and Augustin Bown for a conversation on contemporary design, taking place on Friday, 13 November at MAD Brussels.

Who decides what matters in contemporary design? The designer who conceives a piece, the gallery that selects it, the brand that develops it or the retailer who brings it to the public? From the first idea to its place in our interiors, a design passes through different stages and encounters a variety of perspectives. Each plays a part in shaping its story, its reception and its place in our everyday lives.

At the heart of the discussion will be Linde Freya Tangelder’s Assemble Sofa, designed by the founder of Destroyers/Builders. Originally launched in 2020 by valerie_objects, the sofa is now preparing for a new chapter. Its journey raises an essential question: what makes a design resonate with its audience, and why might a creation find its moment at a different point in time?

On Friday, 13 November, Linde Freya Tangelder (designer and founder of Destroyers/Builders), Scott Lippens (gallerist and founder of Uppercut), Veerle Wenes (co-founder and artistic director of valerie_objects) and Augustin Bown (co-founder and creative director of AFC Collection) will share their experiences and perspectives. From creation to production, from selection to presentation, they will explore the choices, convictions and collaborations that give a design its relevance and help it find its place in our interiors.
