On 18 February 2026, MAD Brussels and Mekanika invite you to discover how CNC milling can transform your creative process at the Mekanika Lab in Anderlecht. Regardless of your preferred material or level of experience, this introductory workshop offers the perfect opportunity to enrich your creative practice by exploring the many possibilities of this innovative technology.

Led by Julien De Mesmaeker, CNC expert at Mekanika, the workshop will show how CNC milling can be integrated at every stage of the creative process, from rapid prototyping to the production of final parts, including customisation and packaging development. Participants will gain an overview of the entire machining process from A to Z, explore CAD and CAM software (computer-aided design and manufacturing), and attend live demonstrations on a variety of materials. Increasingly accessible, CNC milling technology fits seamlessly into creative studios and independent workshops.

Participants are welcome to bring their own material samples to test (various types of wood, aluminium, plastics, plexiglass, foam, cork, etc.). You may also bring ongoing projects: 2D or 3D files, sketches, prototypes, or any other ideas under development. This will be an opportunity to discuss their technical feasibility with Julien and to explore together how CNC milling can bring your creations to life.

The session will conclude with an informal drink, offering the perfect setting to ask further questions and continue the conversation in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
