MAD Brussels, the Brussels Centre for Fashion and Design, is a non-profit organisation that embodies an innovative, sustainable, and inclusive vision of Brussels, shaped by and for creative professionals. Fashion and design practitioners are recognised as key drivers of the positive and inspiring dynamics that define the capital.

MAD Brussels supports, guides, and connects Brussels-based creative entrepreneurs while helping professionals and organisations from the fashion and design sectors expand their activities and visibility at both national and international levels.

MAD Brussels is located in the heart of the city, at Place du Nouveau Marché aux Grains 10, 1000 Brussels, where exhibitions and events dedicated to fashion and design are regularly organised. The organisation also operates creative workshops, the MAD Studios, located at Rue du Vautour 4, 1000 Brussels, providing creative entrepreneurs with workspace and production facilities to develop their projects.

 

Position

Who? 

Business & Events Intern.The intern will work directly with the Managing Director and the Business Events & Communication Officer. This internship must be covered by a formal internship agreement and is unpaid.

When?

September 2026 – December 2026

Duration? 

  • Minimum 3 months (ideally 5 months

  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible arrangement)

Responsibilities

1. MAD Parcours

  • Support the Communications & Business Manager in organising MAD Parcours (project planning, coordination, communications, etc.);

  • Liaise with retailers and designers;

  • Update presentations both visually and editorially;

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions with the team related to the event.

2. Conferences, events & workshops

(Topics include communication, PR, branding, distribution, and business development within the fashion and design sectors.)

  • Support the Business Advisors in managing schedules and events;

  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of events;

  • Coordinate participant evaluations and prepare summary reports;

  • Attend training sessions organised by MAD Brussels during the internship period (subject to workload) and contribute improvement suggestions;

  • Support event administration, including invitations and database updates (contacts and information);

  • Proactively identify and suggest new experts, companies, and guest speakers.

3. Additional tasks

  • Prepare monthly reports summarising business activities;

  • Design and compile surveys and questionnaires;

  • Assist in the creation of presentations and team directories;

  • Translate and update business-related web pages (open calls, events, etc.);

  • Conduct research on companies, schools, and museums for potential collaborations and enter relevant information into the database;

  • Occasionally assist with evening events (after 6:00 PM), including guest reception and room setup.

 

Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented;

  • Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a plus);

  • Passionate about the creative industries, fashion & design ;

  • Adaptable and versatile, with the ability to manage a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities.
