From 25 April to 5 May, Brussels will be all about contemporary jewellery! For its second edition, the Brussels Jewellery Week brings together established and emerging artists, collectors and an international audience.
MAD Brussels will give a stage to more than 80 international jewellery designers during the main exhibition PARTICLE[S]. You can also discover work by students from various Belgian jewellery schools at MAD in the No Waste exhibition. Galleries, schools and studios will also be part of a fascinating walk through the city of Brussels to discover contemporary jewellery. Conferences and a Creative Lunch will complete the festival.
Brussels Jewellery Week is an initiative of Les Brucelles asbl, a Brussels-based non-profit organisation founded in 2021 and composed of passionate jewellery designers and jewellery lovers.
PARTICLE[S] EXHIBITION
On our planet dominated by the urgency of transformation, PARTICLE[S] proposes a variation on the theme of those tiny forces, their active solidarity and hidden power. These minuscule bodies are capable, by amalgamating, to compose large ensembles and thereby constitute the basis of all creation, of all transformation. Their subtle arrangement ends up creating work, or on the contrary, generating chaos. PARTICLE[S] have irresistible strength…
NO WASTE EXHIBITION
Parallel to the PARTICLE[S] exhibition, MAD Brussels is also presenting the No Waste project. No Waste is an initiative that aims to draw attention to the social and environmental responsibility of jewellery designers. This project is a collaboration with Belgian jewellery schools in which students worked with used materials, giving them a second life in the form of jewellery. You can find more info about the No Waste project here.
BE.TOUR
Besides the main exhibitions at MAD Brussels, you can discover many places in the city that open their doors to visitors during Brussels Jewellery Week. From 25 to 28 April, galleries, art centers, artists' collectives, and independent studios exhibit their finest creations and showcase their craftsmanship. In total, no less than 24 places to discover throughout the city! Find more info on the BE.TOUR here.
